Three places rent stand-up paddleboards on Lake Hartwell. Go early, before boat traffic chops up the water, and start in a cove or behind a point rather than on the main lake.
Paddleboards delivered to your dock, campsite or a park, with paddle and vest. $75 for a day trip, and free delivery within 5 miles of downtown Hartwell. Renters must be 21+.
Paddleboards by the hour from the state park on the north end: $10 for an hour, $25 for four. Seasonal, so call before you drive. $10 ParkPass to enter.
